Although there are no strict guidelines as to who is responsible for what, we do have several committees which address the different aspects of the society. Please check one or more to indicate any interest you have in these areas.
Intake
Members of the intake committee primarily respond to calls concerning stray, abandoned, and sometimes injured animals to transport them to the Vet's office(s). Other duties can include such things as trapping feral animals, maintaining food and watering stations in the winter months, or exercising animals while they are in the vet's care.
Finance
The finance committee's chairman is the society treasurer (who maintains the society's financial records), while it's members plan/manage the fund raising events that support the society's efforts. While some members may take an active role in planning and hosting such events as Nanton's annual street sale, pet washes or pet walks, others work behind the lines in their kitchens or workshops making items that can be sold to generate income.
Placement
The placement committee works to find homes for the animals we rescue. This may include the distribution of flyers or posters, organizing events for the purpose of increasing public awareness about both the society and the challenges faced by the animals we are trying to help.
Admin
The Administrative committee primarily works with their home computers to maintain the society's records, the society's web site, and to assist/support the other committees in their computer needs.
Recruiting
The recruiting committee works to fill the needs of the other committees by providing them with the people it takes for them to accomplish their goals. This may include membership drives, or working with the placement committee in their public awareness programs.
Fostering
Working closely with both the intake and placement committees, the fostering committee is a network of foster homes who provide shelter for rescued animals while permanent homes are being located.

For those who may be interested in being a foster home, please complete the following>

If you currently have pets, please tell us how many, and what they are (dog, cat, bird, etc.)

If interested in fostering what kind of pet(s) would you be willing to take in?

We make every effort to place rescued pets as soon as it is possible, but some do take time to find adoptive homes. We are concerned with asking anyone to do more than the are willing to, so if you would like to place a time limit on how long you would be willing to foster please let us know (15 days, 30 days, etc.)
